The Jim Finks Community Sports Foundation is an upcoming organization focused on addressing the core issues of gang violence within locations that are highly active. Many low income families struggle to provide the best for their children, especially a safe environment while the parents are still at work. With the Jim Finks Foundation, children will get the opportunity to participate in sports during times when needed. Through sports, children will learn valuable skills that they can use throughout their life. More than 1,665 children and teens under the age of 17 have been killed due to gun violence since 2011. The Foundation will work together with all participants so that they can have the mentorship they need in order to be successful in life and prevent them from becoming a statistic.
The Jim Finks Community Sports Foundation, NFP is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes in accordance with §501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or the corresponding provision of any future United State Internal Revenue law and referred to below as the "Code"). More specifically, the corporation is organized to empower youth and adults through athletic, extracurricular and community outreach programs that provide life skill education and team building experiences.
The Jim Finks Community Sports Foundation (“JFCSF) is organized to empower youth and adults through facilitating their participation in athletic, extracurricular and community outreach programs that provide life skill education and team building experiences. While much of our outreach will focus on the Chicagoland area, we hope to take our local successes and, some day, offer services to anywhere in the country. The Foundation will accept donations and grants with which to pay tuition and fees for camps, clinics and programs on behalf of at risk kids and adults. The Foundation may also provide direct grants and donations to at risk youth for their participation in camps, clinics and programs and/or operate its own programs, camps and clinics for at risk youth and adults. Our anticipated focus will include:
1. Summer Camps for Kids
Sponsor at risk youth to participate in local athletic camps so that kids gain experiences, stay engaged, learn essential athletic and life skills and have fun.
2. After School Programs Sponsor at risk youth to participate in after school programs to learn essential athletic and life skills, engage in positive activities and have fun.
3. Specialty programs and clinics Sponsor at risk youth to participate in various athletic, extracurricular and community outreach programs to learn essential athletic and life skills, keep busy and have fun.
